Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Strike on Gaza Hospital, Urges Action

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia on Sunday strongly condemned Israel after two missiles struck Gaza’s Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital, disabling its emergency department.

According to the report, the Kingdom firmly denounced the attack, describing it as a blatant violation of international laws and humanitarian norms.

Saudi Arabia urged the international community to take responsibility and intervene to stop repeated assaults on civilians, warning that continued strikes could lead to the collapse of Gaza’s already fragile health system.

Later, World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus revealed that a child had died due to the airstrike’s disruption of care.

He reported that the hospital’s emergency room, lab, X-ray machines, and pharmacy were destroyed, quoting the hospital director.

The facility had to transfer 50 patients elsewhere, while 40 critically ill individuals could not be moved.

“Hospitals are protected under international humanitarian law. Attacks on healthcare must stop,” Tedros emphasized.

The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem's Al-Ahli Hospital was hit on Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week.

The incident was denounced by the Diocese, which also drew attention to its unfortunate timing during the holiest time of the year for Christians.
